A source of hope
Cancer. No other word can emotionally or physically paralyze a person stronger than that hearing that one statement. The disease has affected every single person, either directly or indirectly, and is a non-stop battle. For a friend in Ohio, it was the battle of her life.
Upon hearing that terrible word, a member of the Church did the first thing that popped in her head and sent a cross to her. The doctors chose to pursue an aggressive treatment for her, and the little reminder of God’s love was with her the entire way. It took a lot of strength out of her, and she tired easily. All of the issues of undergoing cancer treatment took their toll on her body, but not her fighting spirit or her faith. After her hospital stay, the patient was sent to rehab to regain her strength under the care of doctors, nurses, friends, and family. Through it all, she kept fighting, and now she can hear the words everyone wants to hear:
She is cancer-free.
